Okay, these are our new encapsulated crawlspaces. We have started using a white two-and-a-half-inch thick Bore-care insulation board. This white insulation board that you see covering the exterior walls of the crawl space has a built-in vapor barrier on the front and the back of it, and it is also has Boraid in it, which will stop any termites from coming up inside of it. They will not be able to crawl up through there and get into your wood, because the Boraid will kill them.
We have installed this Bore-care insulation board all the way around the exterior of the house. We're still doing our encapsulated crawlspaces just like we normally would. We're using a clear wall liner on the bottom that you can see, so we should still do a good termite inspection so we can see if termites are getting in there. At the bottom of the wall. It's still stopping, it's all still 100% waterproof. We're still leaving an inspection gap around the top, as you can see. We're still foaming, all the sill plate, we actually put a bead of foam around the top of the insulation board. The floor liner is basically all still the same, on this house we did install a dehumidifier. He just got all new duct work installed, so he just did not want to have any supplied air inducers, he felt like a dehumidifier would be a better route, as you can see how the insulation board goes all the way around the entire exterior of the house.
All the piers are still done the same. They're clear, so we can still see a good inspection there. You can see how all the floor joists are all nice and clean and mold free. This white board really gives it a lot neater, cleaner appearance. It also has the Boraid mixed in with it, which is really great when it comes to termites because there's no way termites are going to come up in this crawlspace with this board being installed on the walls. It's a great insulator and it gives it more of an all-white appearance which a lot of people are looking for, instead of the silver liner that we were using.
It's basically the same process as before, we're just installing a white two and half inch Bore-care insulation board to all the exterior walls. You can see the crawlspace is completely sealed off air-tight, waterproof, and mold-free. This is Killingsworth’s new version of the encapsulated crawlspace.
